Learn to play the piano better than learning how to arrange chords and chord progressions

Plan organization is the process by which a piece of music written agreements and work with it again, adding new bass accompaniment, fills, or even a little 'changing the structure of the song. And while it takes a process of years to really master, is that anyone with a basic education in piano and a good understanding of some key techniques to create an original arrangement satisfactory. It all boils down to one thing: chord recognition. And who has a little piano can learn piano chordsto add excitement to their playing piano.

Most people learn to play the piano plays only wrote the music. Playing by written music is exactly what the sentence says it is – playing the exact notation on a piece of music. But playing by chord symbol is a bit 'different. Instead of following the harmony note by note, you follow the chord symbols (ie C7 or F) written above the harmonies, filling in the gaps with … well, whatever you want as long as it sticks whereAgreements. Of course, you're still reading the melody (it is often what makes the song recognizable) but even that is completely open to interpretation. Playing by chord symbol allows you the freedom to play with music written simply does not. The freedom to create. The freedom to invent. The freedom of the string models in the way you want to do.

This play was written by music, is less important than playing by chord symbol? Absolutely not! The chance to play with writtenThe music is a skill very valuable one, do not have some of the most famous musicians. And while no one has the possibility of back and forth to make arrangements to know that there is a very big help.

Think of it this way. To create some of the most respected artists of the modern images that seem very simple, very rudimentary. But most of the artists went to art school for years, before creating it, the type of work is started. They learnedLearn the basics of drawing and painting, the composition of color and light, have learned to draw or paint something exactly as it actually looks like. Only when they learned these skills, they move to create the simple but often innovative, work that hangs in galleries and museums – a task that still adheres to some basic principles. They learned the craft in it before bringing their imagination, ultimately you have to understand the rules for breaking them.

So afterlearned the basics of reading piano notes to consider learning chords and chord symbols (like the G7, FM, etc.) and chord progressions. There are many places online where you can learn everything about chords – just type "agreements" or "piano arrangement" into your search browser and you will find several to choose from. If you can read the notes and add chords and chord progressions on the piano, you have the best of all musical worlds.

The white box is coming, it's pretty simple, no images of women, adorned on the outside want to get an invitation, not slogans or loud complaints fantastic, as it will make tea and cook the meals, while working in their lives live for a try! In fact there is so little on the field, except "Webbook 'printed on it.

And that in itself attracts you to discover what is inside.

I opened the box and inside was a small computer, rememberToshiba Libretto that were made some time ago? this is about the same size as I unpacked the machine from the packing material, connected in a battery and then put the power supply (18V 2.2A). I was ready to change.

Its now a little cracker of appearances, it seems really like a real laptop! and is a real sport 10 "widescreen LCD (16:9). It comes in a silver palm rest and taste the LCD bezel, with a very dark gray cap, and a sensible choiceBoundaries of the scratches remain, unseen, during heavy use. The keyboard is a keyboard and Windows itself is sturdy with a nice key action, not to bend or flex.

Up near the hinges of the screen are three buttons, "E-mail Hot Button", "Power" and "Sleep." The machine sports three USB ports located on each side of the machine, a multi-purpose SD card reader on the front, two audio jacks for your Skype / MSN activity and a 10/100 LAN port is located. RightSide of the palm rest, the indicators of the panel to the normal functions and display. Inside is an Intel 2200BG 54G wireless card pre-configured and installed, and, of course, a reasonable size hard disk (80 GB) is the latest SATA hard "drive 2.5.

Beautiful pressing the power on their own, a car that is quiet, this is really very quiet, seeing only prevent the fan blades of the CPU time in the thermal instability.

The book is standard with Linux WebUbuntu 8.04 LTS installed, the machine boots fast enough for about 1-2 minutes, and after entering the username and password, you are presented with the Ubuntu desktop.

I confess that I have never used Linux, but if it is with the desktop I was pleasantly surprised, like windows, as all presented in Linux. All functions such as opening, executing, and copying the files are pretty much the same windows. Among the other does not offer an alternative Windows on Elonexsame machine with Windows XP Professional installed from the factory.

The Linux installation includes a set of standard software, how to install Open Office, Wine (?!), many games! an application programming interface (you can write your own programs Linux), Firefox, which has the same or less than Internet Explorer and Utilities endless and folders.

What's so good about this machine is, like Linux to connect to any networked device that easily, in fact, if the manualNetwork Configuration dialog box, click and its just the network device is configured immediately, much better than in windows!

My wireless connection is detected and connected in less than 20 seconds! the first attempt.

The touchpad has a good atmosphere and moves smoothly from the desktop with no extra work to move the cursor to the edge of the screen. The audio quality is quite good and good for most applications

You can ask now the screen is usableThe small, the answer is a resounding YES! I think that's where the designers have really done their homework, the clarity and sharpness of the screen of this size and price range is very good. You can not complain.

The LCD screen darkens more and more a very dark to a very lightweight, a nice touch, this adjustment is not very common in many mobile handsets.

The performance is impressive, considering that this is a single-coreCPU, more tasks will be very well developed and I found the answer from the Internet very well, loading a web page, and 'You Tube' did not seem to operate the machine in any kind of stress.

I had no problems with the use of the machine, if the view for browsing the Internet, video, if you have any e-mail or just look around!

Completion

I have come across many machines as much as this year was really impressed, especially for the price, the web-bookcombines the needs of the real world in a small package without colored or deceptive appearance of simplicity, and as a bonus appears to be a true widescreen laptop instead of some Woollie!

The performance was very impressive, his reaction, and most of the programs that will run thrown on him. Obviously, because the machine falls into this category and gaming applications are very difficult to not recommend it if you want to suggest a powerful machine, I needa full size laptop Core Duo. I think for most people who are considering purchasing this I doubt that his performance is not in any way you scare anyone.

Secondly, is designed in a modular fashion, which means that it is possible the RAM or hard drive with ease and without rebuilding or rely on this important service providers to upgrade it for you.

You can use this notebook in the glove compartment car out of what is small! or if you are a lady with a small bag, it is nottoo much of a challenge! in shape.

If your needs are for a small footprint laptop to surf the Internet, run your business / ebay, internet video conference or just for fun that gets my vote.

The white box it comes in, is refreshingly simple, no pictures of desirable women adorned on the outside soliciting an invitation, no blaring slogans or fantastic claims how it will make the tea and cook your meals while you try to work you life off for a living!  In fact there’s so little on the box other than the ‘Webbook’ printed on it.

And that in itself draws you to discover what might be on the inside.

I opened the box and inside was a tiny little computer, remember those Toshiba Libretto’s that were made some time ago? this is about the same size, I unpacked the machine from the wrapping materials, plugged in the battery, and then plugged in the power supply (18V 2.2A). I was ready to switch on.

Well from appearances its a little cracker, it actually looks like a real laptop! and it sports a true 10″ wide screen LCD (16:9 aspect). It comes in a tasteful silver coloured palm rest, and LCD bezel, with a very dark grey top lid, a sensible choice and limits those scratches to remain unseen when in serious use.  The keyboard is a real windows keyboard and is sturdy with a nice key action, no bending or flexing.

Towards the top near the screen hinges are three buttons these are, ‘Email hot button’, ‘Power’, and ‘Sleep’. The machine sports 3 USB sockets conveniently placed on each side of the machine, a multipurpose SD card reader at the front, two audio sockets for your Skype/MSN activities, and one 10/100 LAN port. On the right hand side of the palm rest are the panel indicators for the usual functions and indicators. Inside is an Intel 2200BG 54G wireless card preconfigured and installed and of course a reasonably sized hard disk (80GB) being the later SATA type hard 2.5″ drive.

Pressing the power on its nice to see a machine that is quiet in operation this one really is very quiet, only the CPU fan cutting in to avert thermal runaway occasionally.

The web book comes as standard with Linux Ubuntu 8.04 LTS preinstalled, the machine boots fairly quickly at around 1-2 minutes, and after you have typed in your username and password you are presented with the Ubuntu desktop.

I confess that I have never used Linux before, but when presented with the desktop I was pleasantly surprised how windows like everything is in Linux. All the functions such as opening, running and copying files are virtually the same as in windows. Incidentally Elonex does offer a windows alternative on the same machine with windows XP Professional factory installed.

The Linux installation boasts a whole host of software installed as standard, such as open office, Wine(?!), lots of games! a programming interface (you could write your own Linux programs), Firefox which is the same virtually as Internet Explorer and endless utilities and folders.

What’s so nice about this machine is how Linux virtually connects to every network device so easily, in fact when using the manual network configuration dialog box its just a click and your network device is instantly configured, much better than in windows!

My wireless connection was detected and connected in less than 20 seconds! on the first try.

The touch pad has a good relative feel and moves smoothly across the desktop without undue work to move the cursor around the extremities of the screen. Audio quality is fairly good and fine for most applications

So you might be asking is the screen usable this small, well the answer is a resounding YES! I think this is where the designers have really done their homework, the screen clarity and sharpness at this size and price point is very good. You could not fault it.

The LCD screen will dim progressively to a very dark level right up to a very bright level a nice touch, this kind of adjustment is not very common amongst laptops even on most laptops currently available.

Performance is impressive, considering this is a single core CPU, it will perform most tasks very well and I found the responsiveness from the web very good, web page loading and ‘You Tube’ did not seem to put the machine under any kind of stress.

I had no trouble with using the machine, whether for surfing the web, watching videos, typing a few emails or just mucking about!

Conclusion

I have not come across many machines this year that have really impressed as much as this one, especially on price, the web book combines real world needs into a small package without it becoming gaudy in appearance or gimmicky beyond practicality, and as a bonus it looks like a proper wide screen laptop rather than something from woollies!

Performance was very impressive, its responsive and it will run the majority of programs that’s thrown at it. Obviously because of the category this machine falls into gaming and very heavy applications are not recommended, if you require a powerful machine i would suggest a  full sized Duo Core laptop. I think for most people who are considering buying this I doubt whether its performance will in any way put anyone off.

Secondly it has been manufactured in a modular fashion, that means you can upgrade your RAM or your HARD DRIVE with ease and without a major rebuild or relying on service establishments to do it for you.

You can put this laptop in your car glove box its that small! or if you are a lady with a smallish handbag it would not be too much of a challenge! to fit it inside.

If your needs are for a small footprint laptop that will surf the web, run your business/EBay, Internet video conferencing or just for entertainment this one gets my vote.

Piano Lesson – Chord Inversions

2011 June 14
Posted by regparamoz

Inversions

What are inversions? An inversion is a different form of the same chord. For instance, the C major chord is made up of the numbers 1-3-5 of the C scale which results in the pianist playing the following notes on the piano C-E-G simultaneously. An inversion of the C chord would be created when the C note that is currently on the bottom of the chord is moved to the top of the chord resulting in the C chord being played as follows: E-G–C Notice that I put two lines between the G and the C note. That represents the two notes that are not played on the C scale. If you continued to move the note on the bottom of the C chord to the top, you would then move the E to the top and create the following inversion to C chord: G–C-E

An example of inversions of the C chord are below:

First inversion is: C-E-G

Second inversion is: E-G–C

Third inversion is: G–C-E

First inversion is: C-E-G

All chords including major, minor, seventh, augmented, diminished, second, sixth, etc. have inversions.

A seventh chord will have 4 inversions because there are four notes in the chord. Below is an example of C7 chord inversions.

First inversion is: C-E-G-Bb

Second inversion is: E-G-Bb-C

Third inversion is: G-Bb-C-E

Fourth inversion is: Bb-C-E-G

First inversion is: C-E-G-Bb

HOW ARE INVERSION USED?

Wow, that’s a loaded question. Anyone who has played the piano for any time at all realizes the importance of inversions! When I teach my students piano (and as taught in Piano By Ear for Beginners DVD) as soon as the student learns the chords, C, F, and G, they are taught the inversion rules and how to identify them. Then, over and over, they practice them until they can be played with ease and identified easily. Anyway, back to how inversions are used.

The two main ways that inversions are used are 1) chording with the left hand and 2) adding chords to the right hand melody. Since these techniques are covered in another newsletter, I will only touch on it briefly.

1) Using inverions on the left hand allows the pianist to use inversions of one chord near inversions of other chords when changing chords during a song. Using inversions provide a smooth and easy transition between chords. (DON’T WORRY…THIS WILL BE COVERED IN GREATER DETAIL ON AN UPCOMING NEWSLETTER)

2) Adding chords to the right hand melody helps the songs sound fuller and richer. You should always remember to keep the melody on top of your chord. (THIS WILL ALSO BE COVERED IN AN UPCOMING NEWSLETTER).

Inversion are used on the left hand between chord changes. Let’s say a pianist is play a song in the key of C. Since the three main chord changes for the key of C are C, F, & G, the pianist will be switching the left hand back and forth between those chords. If the pianist used the first inversion for each chord witht the left hand while chording, he/she would be playing:

C-E-G for the C Chrod

F-A-C for the F Chord

G-B-D for the G chord

When looking at the keyboard you will notice that moving from the C chord to the F chord is quite a jump. In fact, you would have to go pass the notes D, and E to get to F. So when changing from the C chord to the F chord, since chord changes happen quickly, the pianist could move from the first inversion of C chord to the third inversion of F chord. That way the pinkie finger on the left hand could remain on C and only the E-G would move up one note each to F-A like this:

C-E-G – first inversion of C chord

C–F-A – third inversion of F chord

That’s a comfortable switch without having to move all the fingers four notes higher like you would if you switched from the first inversion of C chord to the first inversion of F chord.

Using this technique, one can make chord changes with the left hand nice and smoothly applying this to all chord inversions and using the inversion of the next chord close to the current inversion you are playing.

Play Most Rock Songs With Basic Guitar Chords

2011 June 12

Posted by regparamoz

There are three chord forms that make up the basic guitar chords: the Major form, the Minor form and the Dominant Seventh form. All of these chord forms are derived from the major scales. Once you learn these chord forms, you will be able to figure out and play most rock songs.

You can begin to recognize the different chord forms by the sound they generate. There are some that even classify the chord form by the emotion a chord may evoke when you hear it.

For example, a major chord ‘sounds’ complete, like there are no notes missing. I’ve heard them called “happy” chords, because they just sound full and lively. On the other hand, minor chords have a darker tone to them, almost a “sad” sound. Dominant seventh chords have a bluesy tone to them, kind of an unresolved sound, like you lost something.

Regardless of the chord form, basic guitar chords are built from an established formula of three notes, also called a triad. You have a root note, the third note and the fifth note. The root note is the first note in a scale, the third is – you got it – the third note and the fifth is the fifth note.

So a major chord incorporates notes 1, 3 and 5 of the scale. Since the 1 note is the root note, it might be shown as ‘R’ for root.

A minor chord consists of the root, a flatted third note and the fifth note, notated like this: R, b3, 5

A dominant seventh chord simply adds a flatted seventh note to a major chord. It would be shown like this: R, 3, 5, b7

Since a musical scale is seven notes (at least in western music, which includes rock), we can begin to understand how to create these guitar chords.

To keep it simple, let’s look at the scale of C major. This is the easiest to demonstrate because every note in the scale of C is a major note (the scale itself has no sharps or flats). Here are the notes in the C major scale: C, D, E, F, G, A, B

Using the explanation above (notes R, 3 and 5 of the scale), a C major (C) chord would be the C, E and G notes. A C minor (Cm) chord is the C, Eb (E flat) and G notes. A C dominant seventh (C7) chord is C, E, G and Bb (B flat).

If this seems like way too much theory, don’t worry about it too much. Song tablature (tabs) typically shows you where to place your fingers to form the basic guitar chords. But the better you understand ‘how’ these chords are formed, the easier it will be to learn and play most guitar chords for rock songs.

How Chords Comp – comping techniques that work for the beginning pianist!

2011 June 11
Posted by regparamoz

Having trouble agreements comping on the piano or another instrument? If you add the rhythm, chords, which is basically "comping" agreements, and is definitely one of the most difficult aspects of playing the piano. E 'game relatively "easy" for an agreement in his left hand, hold, and improvise with the right hand. But once you try, by any kind of rhythm, the chord of the left, the time seems to fall apart. So, let's go with some ideas that will help loosenHis left hand.

First, the right to control where it is in action. For this example, we say that we are in 4 / 4 time … are four beats per measure. It 'very important during comping, you can not add or remove beats by the measure. Here, a metronome or play-along track is useful. I have heard, students travel time, or move because it focuses too much on the comping. The lesson … is the first time!

Second, keep your strings easy to launch. Start withonly the root and the seventh chord, a rope R7. Or just the root and third, a rope R3. So, for C7, this would be C-Bb, or CE. simple chords, you can focus on what is important … of time.

Now is a good place to pause and discuss the "concept of collapse" is. You do not have to go far to find, hard to understand concepts in jazz piano. Low resolution is a perfect example. It sounds simple, but it is not. Worse still, it "seems right" concepts that make it frustrating to learn and makeoften cause students to throw their arms in disgust. But there is a solution!

Sharing concept is a failure to manage the difficult concepts easy to understand and easy to share. To reduce the concept of comping, I would of its parts:

– Chord Voicing – the notes of the chord and how they are arranged
– Number of agreements to bar
– Time Lyrics
– Interaction with the right hand / solo
– Rhythmic spontaneous

So if wefocused on each of these sections of the wider concept, we can practice more easily. Here we go …
Chord Voicing – as I said, create simpler versions of your strings for now. Once you are comfortable with the chords and comping, you can add notes to your tension and string.

Number of agreements to bar – if the section has more than two chords per bar just try to hit the agreements on beats 1 and 3 However, this does not always work, butDepending on the complexity of the rhythm and chord progression, can only come through the section until you have more time to do it and do it well.

Track time – that should be obvious, but … ! Slow I'm always surprised when I ask a student to slow down and play exactly the same rate. A good way to slow down is to make sure that the ticking of a clock or your heart beats for a moment. Then, try to imitate the rhythm. It should be about 60-80 beats perMinute.

Interaction with the right hand / solo – this is the heart of comping. Comping is all in support of the melodic line. This is usually either a solo or a melody instrument (like a trumpet, singer, or the right hand, etc.) Good comping adds to the piece. He added that the soloist is playing. It adds melody, and so on. So during practice comping, it is important to listen. Listen to "holes" in the subject line. Look at the example below. Note that the linePlaces where there is space. If you fill a most important sectors with some tasty comping.

One might ask, "Where are these rooms?" Well, look for breaks and mutually linked notes. Also, remember that you play each chord at the beginning of the operation. So there are four strings, and at least four ways an agreement with his left hand to play. There are also areas in line, where long notes and rests. But, for the low resolution, not only in the filling"Cracks". You can play at the same time an agreement with a note melody in the right hand.

Let's go through six variations comping on this line and see how to put into practice.

1) the agreements in a beat. This is a good place to learn, "comp" for if you can not do this exercise in time, will not be able to do the rest! Also, make sure you are probably struck a deal before entering.

** NOTE ** If you learn these for the firstNow, you may find that you lack the agreement on the first beat. If it is difficult to play chords to play when you improvise in the right hand, which is a good indication that you need to feel comfortable with the solo right before hand comping rhythms lovers. Morale here to stay for a simple rhythm completely known until the liquid is for you.

2) Short "bites" on beats 1 and 3 The next step is to change all such agreements in the short stabs. A "stab" is just arate applied to a quick agreement. E 'is often used with the horns. For example, "The horn stabs happen behind the soloist." This exercise is important because it helps you to switch between long and short agreements agreements. long strings that are held for a quarter note or longer and has short strings less than a quarter (which is my definition).

3) Short "bites" on beats 1 and "+" 3 The "+" Beat three is from the beginning. This exercise will help you begin to feelOff-the-beat rhythms. This adds even syncope on the line. I cover my lesson in syncopation Mastering Rhythm Volumes 1 and 2

Search 4) the way forward. A note on the last quaver bar one, in two sizes, tied an expectation. The melody is the anticipation of strong heart beat of a resolution. Guess what? We can also wait for the tendon in his left hand. However, be careful not to fall beats. It 'easy to confuse and rush of the action ifAnticipating agreements. Also, be sure to feel where the beat is! If you can not hear right now, stick to Phase 3, a couple of training sessions.

5) Find ways to support the melody. In the last step, we can highlight the notes of the solo / melody Comping agreements with them. As your solo victories in intensity, this is a great way to accentuate your solo music.

6) Use agreement rates in the short and long term. If you play all your strings sooner or later, your compingSound predictable. Make sure your comping rhythms between the various long / short rhythms … and … Beats that fall on or off the clock.

Finally we come to the spontaneous rhythm. The purpose of comping agreements is to be able to create interesting chord rhythms on the spot. Now the only way to get it to start with simple rhythms and then gradually into it. Basically I want to have a vocabulary of rhythms that you can practice your strings. This means you need a comfortable andA two-handed rhythms.

Beginner Country Guitar Lessons – How to play immediately killer bass lines on guitar (easy)

2011 June 7
Posted by regparamoz

Many guitarists are familiar with alternating bass for understanding, but only a handful of combining arrangements with bass lines that may have a few basics to know that their friends playing the guitar made them see, but not really know how or why do not work.

It 's time to stop all this smoke and mirrors stuff, and at last the secrets of the bass runs and the good news is that it is easy once we have understood the basic principles of music from around the consumption of more than guitarists.

ReviewTime:

Alternating Bass composed of alternating between the first and fifth note of a chord as if we were playing an agreement of "C" would alternate between the note C (Note 1 tendon) and the note G (Note 5 of the tendon) .

Here is a brief summary table for you to check the bass changes.

A, Am, Am7, A7, A9 = 5 and 6 strings

B, BM, Bm7, B7, B9 = 5:06

C, CM, Cm7, C7, C9 = 5:06

D, Dm, Dm7, D7, D9 = 4:05

E, Em, Em7, E7, E9 =6:05

F, FM, FM7, F7, F9 = 4 and 5 (5-String version)

F, FM, FM7, F7, F9 = 6 and 5 (bar chord version)

G, GM, Gm7, G7, G9 = 6:04

That's like a bar of 4 / 4 time job

Bass (Note 1) jingle / Low (Note 5) jingle /

Thus, a bar in 4 / 4 time would be written like this: / / / /, but could play like this: Bass / Bass /

Once you turn on your model with low you want to try a few runs down, here's how it works, which notesto play.

The first step is to know the names of the notes of the scale / key you are in the game, here are some of the most popular "guitar friendly" key for you to study.

C = C – D – E – F – G – A – B – C

G = G – A – B – C – D – E – F # – G

D = D – E – F # – G – A – B – C # – D

A = A – B – C # – D – E – F # – G # – A

E = E – F # – G # – A – B – C # – D # – E

Suppose you were playing a song in the key of "D" and wanted to create a run down on a rope "D" connectan agreement of "A".

Step 1: Select the key

D = D – E – F # – G – A – B – C # – D

Once you have the chords and basic notes down on your acoustic guitar, the next step most beginners try is to find easy guitar songs to play and practice on. These easy guitar songs for beginners usually involve some basic notes and chords that you would have just learned and a tempo that is not too fast to keep up with, creating a good practice song for you to start helping you put notes and cords together into melodies.

A Horse with No Name

A Horse with No Name is performed by America, and it is a very popular song for beginners to use when looking for easy guitar songs to learn to play. One of the best things about A Horse with No Name is that, for beginners, there isn’t much moving around on the neck of the guitar. This is because the four simple chords used in this song, D6/9, Dmaj9, Em9 and Em, are played on only one fret, making it extremely easy for beginners to get the hang of.

Feeling Alright

Dave Mason performs Feeling Alright, and it is another easy tune for beginners to learn to play after getting down some basics. With only two chords to play, some people believe it is even easier than a Horse with No Name because though there is some moving around on the neck, there is only two chords to play (C7 and F7). It is actually considered to be a perfect example of easy guitar songs for beginners.

Wild Thing

Wild Thing has been performed by dozens of people, but the one that is among the easy guitar songs for beginners is the one that is performed by the Troggs. This song incorporates four simple chords along with a “stop” chord to create this simple melody. This is also simple as far as easy guitar songs go because the A chord uses only one finger, D chord uses two, E uses one again and the G chord is the thumb. The “stop chord” does not mean there will be any strumming, just muting the strings with your fingers.

Hurt

Hurt as performed by Johnny Cash is one of the most beautiful of his songs, but also one of the simplest as far as guitar performances, which makes it a very popular easy guitar song for those who are just starting. Acoustic guitar lessons that teach you to play this song will tell you that it uses five chords that are fairly simple to carry out, including the Am, C, D, F and G. This song is usually used for beginners that are moving closer to intermediate levels rather than simple beginners.
